To Alan, my irreplaceable great personal and family friend

I could a relate a thousand stories of experiences with my great friend of almost fifty years, all of which were happy and usually funny, as we shared a similar sense of humour.

We played rugby, golf, cricket, tennis, squash, darts together and also trained for and ran the Windsor Great Sam Half Marathon.  After all these activities we would adjourn to a suitable watering hole for numerous refreshments!  We also regularly attended rugby international matches over many years in Cardiff, Dublin, Paris and Twickenham.  We also, accompanied by Brian (Grant) and Graham (Kerridge),for ten years following Bracknell RFC the length and breadth of England, great fun and very sociable.

Alan was probably the kindest person that I have ever known and a great friend of the family. He baby sat for both our children, Karl and Marie-Claire and came on a number of holidays with us to France and Wales. He will always be alive in my thoughts.
